It’s absolutely crazy to me that I had Luke just over a month ago. Fastest passing month I’ve ever experienced, that’s for sure. This first month of being parents of 2 has challenged and stretched us but we have had a wonderful time. Luke is continuing to grow everyday.
Luke sleeps & eats like a champ, and has been doing really well with the…over abundance…of love from Chad haha. I think Luke might be more spoiled than Chad because Chad will not let him lay in the bouncer, rock n play, or the swing! Chad insists on holding him or that Luke is held all the time. Luke is pretty heavy, so Chad can’t lift him yet, but Chad definitely tries.
At 3 weeks, Luke weighed 9 lbs. 12 oz. and was 22.5 inches long. That’s 1 lbs. 5 oz. over birth weight and 1.5 inches longer than he was at birth. He is growing so fast. He’s in size 1 diapers and has outgrown his newborn clothes. 😭 It’s always sad packing up the itty bitty outfits, but it’s so exciting to see that he’s so healthy! He’s sleeping in anywhere between 3-6 hour increments at night so we definitely can’t complain.

Chad has become an amazing big brother. Chad always wants to hold Luke, change Luke’s diaper, lay next to him, and give him kisses. It’s so wonderful to watch! Chad has struggled a little bit with FOMO since Luke came home; he really doesn’t like going to bed because he knows Luke is hanging out with us and he wants to as well. In everyone’s best interest (except mine haha), we have decided to cut Chad’s nap 😦 It’s been really hard on me, because he would nap for at least 3 hours and I was really hoping to still have that time when we had 2 kids, but it’s just not working out. When Chad did nap, he would go to bed around 10-11pm and it was such a struggle to get him to go to sleep because he only wanted me but I needed to take care of Luke. Overall, I think we are making progress because the for the past 2 nights, Chad has asked to go to bed. #parentingwin
Kurt has been an incredible partner to experience this with. He’s an amazing father, and he changes more diapers than I do, especially in the middle of the night. He’s always asking how he can help make my life easier- hence the reason why he did probably 5 loads of laundry this weekend. I seriously hit the jackpot when it comes to Kurt. I feel extremely lucky to be his wife and grateful that the boys and I have such a wonderful person to provide for & take care of us.
Life with our boys is the best life!
