Luke: 4 Months & 5 Months | Chad Update

4 MONTHS

Luke is getting big! He’s such a happy baby, just like how his older brother was.  He smiles constantly and is getting better and faster at rolling over, grabbing things, hand-mouth coordination, and being vocal.  He’s an absolutely terrible sleeper.  He doesn’t nap consistently and he still wakes up 3-4 times a night.  Chad was not like this at all so I am dyyyyyying with the lack of sleep that I am getting.  Lack of sleep takes a huge toll on my health, so it’s been hard. But I’m grateful for Chad being so helpful during the day and for Kurt being there every night to help.  I love my dudes!

Stats:

  • Height: 26″ (71%)
  • Weight: 14.6 lbs. (28%)
  • Head: 92%

Luke’s Favorite Things

Being thrown in the air • Eating in the middle of the night • Baths • Fuzzy pajamas • Snuggles • Laughing • Playing with Daddy • Being held by Mommy

Luke’s Least Favorite Things

Being put down after being held • Waking up • Being cold • Getting hit by Chad or something Chad threw • Getting buckled into his carseat • Feeling ignored • Hard toys

5 MONTHS

The first 5 months of Luke’s life has kind of been a whirlwind and a blur.  I love watching him grow and learn new things, but it’s also hard for me because I feel like he doesn’t always get the attention he deserves in the way that Chad got it when he was Luke’s age.  I understand that things have to be different because I’m taking care of 2 kids instead of one, but time goes by so much quicker the second time around.

Luke’s Favorite Things

Being held • Chewing on soft toys • Snuggling • Having Dziadziu pick him up after a nap • Standing • Sitting in his bumbo • Smiling • Being outside • Rolling • Hanging out on mom & dad’s bed.

Luke’s Least Favorite Things

Being cold • Diaper changes, but he also hates having a messy diaper • Not being able to crawl • Having Chad invade his personal space • Chad taking things from him • Getting stuck

Luke took his first plane ride and celebrated his first Christmas!  We flew to California and spent Christmas & New Years in Santa Barbara, and then Chad, Luke, and I stayed for a couple more weeks while Kurt flew back to Utah to go back to work.  We had such a blast in California together.  Luke got to meet his 2 aunts (my sisters) and his uncle (my brother-in-law), and Chad had a great time playing with them.  He loves his Aunt Eweese, Aunt Tine, and Uncle Paynt (Payton).  He also liked Baby Who, which is what he called my sister’s baby bump haha

Chad Update!

Chad is getting SO big! I can’t believe he’s 2.5 years old. He LOVES nursery (and finally stopped crying when we drop him off), and continues to love animals. He loves Luke and being around to help him and love on him. He learns new words everyday, has learned how to climb out of his crib, and enjoys Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, The Lion Guard, nursery rhymes, and primary music. We love him so much!
