Pregnancy #3: 20 Weeks & Gender Reveal!

Size:Belgian Endive, Mango, or Banana depending on which app or website you look at.

Gender:We find out this week! The anticipation is getting to me!

Baby Names:We have 2 girl names and 1 boy name. Names won’t be shared until they are born, but trust me…they’re good!!

Cravings:sweets and fruit

Aversions:foods with really strong scents

Symptoms:nausea when I don’t eat or drink enough, headaches, hip and back pain.

Nausea/Morning Sickness:Morning sickness is gone (thank goodness!) but I feel nauseated when I don’t get enough to eat at the right time.

Movement:YES! I’ve been so nervous about this, because I didn’t feel them move a lot until around 19 weeks. But I have appointments fairly regularly so I’m always able to check on the babies when I need to.

Sleep:It’s starting to get difficult to fall asleep and stay asleep. Having Chad join us in the middle of the night doesn’t help. But I can’t get comfortable most of the time.

Maternity Clothes: Yes! That’s pretty much all I wear now.

Wedding Ring on/off?:On!

Favorite Moment of the Week:Starting off the Christmas season with a bang! The boys got their Christmas jammies, we (meaning I) decorated Christmas cookies, we went and saw Christmas lights and then we came home and had hot chocolate.

Least Favorite Moment of the Week:I don’t have one really, I’m just becoming way more irritable. This pregnancy has turned me into a no nonsense, cut to the chase, just deal with it kind of person. It’s not something I particularly enjoy, but I just really don’t have the time to deal with fluff and things that really aren’t that important when I have 2 kids to take care of, a high risk pregnancy, and have appointments with 4 different doctors, plus regular life that I have to keep organized.

Looking Forward To: Our ultrasound this week!!! We will find out the genders and how the babies are growing and we are so excited!!

Fast forward 1 day…

Well, at 20 weeks and 1 day, I got my 20 week ultrasound. Both babies are doing so much better than we could’ve anticipated…and we are having TWO GIRLS!!!

Honestly, it’s really starting to sink in how much I have loved being a boy mom. The love a son has for his mother is just the best thing in the world. I’m so grateful I have had the opportunity to experience it twice, and that I have two loving, kind boys who will share some of that love with their little sisters.

I’m so excited to be having girls! Being half of a set of girl twins myself, I feel like there’s so much I get to share with these girls and I have a lot of experience that will help us relate to each other. Girls do make me pretty nervous though- the clothes & accessories, the shopping, tears & drama, BOYS, friends, dance, make up and hair products etc…It’s a lot! It’s all things I enjoy, but it’s overwhelming and it’s expensive! I’m glad I have 3 guys in my life that will perfectly balance out us 3 girls. I’ve been outnumbered for so long, but I don’t ever feel like I’ve been missing out because I have boys and not girls. I’m excited that I get to experience both because I think it’ll make me a better mom & person for all of my kids and Kurt.
